Martin City Council lays way for farmers market

MARTIN, Tenn. — Plans are in the works for a big addition to downtown Martin, with a new farmers market on the way. Construction on the new structure is expected to being next month, and the market is slated to open June 1. The new market will cost $247,000, with $100,000 coming from an agricultural grant. The rest of the funding is coming from the city and was approved at a Monday city council meeting.
