Union inducts Sports Hall of Fame class

JACKSON, Tenn. – Union University inducted five new members into their Sports Hall of Fame on Friday. Making up this year’s class is Joe Aden (men‘s basketball), Gary Blaylock (baseball), Steve Valadez (baseball), Mae Ester Coleman (women‘s basketball) and Rachel Murray Buchanan (softball, 2002). Buchanan is the first ever softball athlete inducted into the Bulldogs Sports Hall of Fame. She says this honor never crossed her mind while she was at Union. “I just went out and played every day hard. I never worried about stats,” said Buchanan. “It’s incredibly humbling and an honor.”
