JACKSON, Tenn.- The road conditions are so dire due to icy roads the area’s largest hospital in West Tennessee is limiting its emergency transports. Jackson-Madison County General Hospital said its ambulance service will still make emergency calls in the area. However, it will be unable to take patients to larger hospital in Memphis and Nashville due to road conditions. All medical helicopters have also been grounded due to the ice, but local emergency calls will be made. “Obviously, if we have an emergency we want you to call us road conditions are not, we’re going to come to you,” said Joyce Noles, director of Medical Center EMS. Noles said if it is not life-threatening to try to hold off till tomorrow.
