Tony Delk left an indelible mark on Haywood’s basketball program. The Brownsville native will do the same on Saturday at Rupp Arena in Kentucky. “I would have said you’re lying. There’s no way I would be the 43rd player going up,” said Delk. The former NBA point guard’s jersey will hang next to his college head coach Rick Pitino. As a Wildcat, Delk lead the University of Kentucky to the 1996 National Champiosnhip. The UK legend also holds the school record for made 3-pointers. “It’s a great honor. There are so many great players and teams that have come through Rupp Arena.”, said Delk. “To go back to Kentucky, my home away from home is a great honor.” Delk jersey will enter the rafters during halftime of Kentucky versus Auburn.
