Henderson Co. patrolman named THP Trooper of the Year

HENDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. — The Tennessee Highway Patrol named its Trooper of the Year Thursday, and the honor goes to a Henderson County patrolman. Michael Sullivan represents the Jackson district and earned the 2014 Trooper of the Year honor, according to a THP release. Sullivan had 128 DUI arrests, leading his 10-county district and finishing second in impaired driver arrests statewide, according to the release. Sullivan, a 13-year veteran of the THP, works the midnight shift in Henderson County and consistently produces as a DUI task force member, arresting 155 individuals including 16 felony apprehensions. He also investigated 76 crashes and issued 1,117 citations while conducting 97 commercial motor vehicle inspections last year.
