Carroll Co. woman says she found disrespectful word on Starbucks cup

JACKSON, Tenn. — A West Tennessee woman says instead of her name written on the side of her Starbucks cup, she instead found a disturbing description. The woman from Carroll County said during a recent visit to the Vann Drive location in Jackson, a barista wrote the word “chubby” on her cup. The mother of the alleged victim, who has asked not to be identified, says it’s sad and humiliating. We reached out to Starbucks to get a response, and the following is what they sent us. “We were disappointed to hear of the poor experience [customer’s name] had in our store and sincerely apologize to her. This experience is unacceptable and not indicative of the welcoming and respectful service we strive to offer our customers in our stores. We hope to welcome [her] back soon as a Starbucks customer.”
