Jackson man accused of assaulting girlfriend

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A Jackson man appeared Friday in court on accusations of assaulting his live-in girlfriend. Arlandis Cortez Walker is facing one count of simple domestic assault after his girlfriend told police he assaulted her in their Channing Way residence, according to court documents. Walker, who is the father of her children, allegedly grabbed her by the neck and slammed her head into the floor and the bathroom wall, the document states. Police say the girlfriend had no visible injuries except a small abrasion on her left knee that appeared to be an old injury. Walker’s bond was set at $1,000.
