JACKSON, Tenn. — A 5-year-old gets a surprise on a big day as her dreams of becoming a princess really do come true. “Today Ema is going to be surprised and we are going to making her an official princess,” Paige Dennis said. Ema is like most 5-year-old girls. She likes to play dress up, get her hair done and don’t forget the make-up. But Ema also has hydrocephalus, a condition that causes fluid to gather on the brain. “She has had nine brain surgeries. Her first one at nine months and since she turned five, she now has had nine brain surgeries,” Chara McLaughhen said. The hardest thing Ema had to go through Saturday was choosing three pageant-style dresses. What she didn’t know, is not only will she be crowned a princess, but there’s another magical surprise that awaits. “She is going to be told that she gets to keep her gown and choose to be a princess any day, anytime she wants at home,” Dennis said. The dress she chose Saturday is now hers. “It is very inspiring to see that these women will take the time and these ladies will take the time to love on her,” McLaughen said. Organizers said Ema’s special day was all a part of the their Children’s Miracle Network All items Ema was given were donated by pageant sponsors.
