Union’s Philamlee earns South Region Player of the Year

JACKSON, Tenn. – Union University senior Amy Philamlee isn’t done collecting awards. The senior guard was named the Daktronics NCAA Division II Conference Commissioners Association Women‘s Basketball South Region Player of the Year on Monday. Philamlee’s was also named the Gulf South Conference Player of the Year earlier this month. The Jonesboro, Ark. native led all of NCAA DII in scoring with 24.7 points per game and was second in the nation with 7.9 assists per game. Philamlee and the Lady Bulldogs’ season ended in the Sweet 16 against Nova Southeastern University.
