MARTIN, Tenn. — For the small town of Martin, when tragedy strikes for one of their own, it strikes for everyone. On Friday, Mike and Jennifer Wenz found out their precious daughter, Anna Kate, had a small tumor on the back of her brain. Responding immediately, the community showed up with ways to support the Wenz family. Students and teachers at Westview High School wore pink all day for Anna Kate, as did residents of the county. Westview’s Spanish Club used extra money in their account to purchase bracelets, which will be sold to raise money for the family. “The entire community of Martin, that’s what’s so great about small-town America, we have a tragedy in our midst and our entire community is backing this family,” said Jeromy Davidson, principal of Westview High School. Tuesday night’s baseball game is sponsored by Savant Learning Systems, which will allow Westview to donate all proceeds from the ticket sales to the family. If you want to purchase a bracelet or donate to the family, contact Jeromy Davidson at 731-587-4202.
