CHESTER COUNTY, Tenn. — In Henderson, emergency officials want more people to sign up for an alert program that could save lives in the event of severe weather. Chester County’s 911 district has a new program bringing peace of mind to residents in the area. In the case of severe weather, Code Red sends out text alerts to any phone that’s registered. But directors say don’t assume your number is already on the list. “It gives you a lot of peace of mind because you can go to bed, because a lot of storms do happen at night,” 911 Director Patricia Ledford said. To enroll, call the Chester County EMA at 731-989-5674. All you’ll need to enroll is your name, address and phone number.
