JACKSON, Tenn. — The American Heart Association hosted its annual West Tennessee “Go Red for Women” event Tuesday evening at the Carl Perkins Civic Center. The dinner is part of the Go Red for Women movement that encourages local women to take charge of their heart health by making it a top priority so they can live stronger, longer lives. “We celebrate our survivors and we just draw attention to the fact that, hey women, we need to listen up and start making changes in our lifestyle to prevent heart disease and stroke,” said Christy Futrell, regional director for the American Heart Association. More than 400 people attended the event.
