Liberty Tech gets new head football coach

JACKSON, Tenn. — A new coach has taken the reigns to lead the Liberty Tech football team. Tyler Turner has accepted the position of head football coach for Liberty Technology Magnet High School, according to a release from the school system. Turner is a graduate of Obion County Central High School in Troy. He most recently has served as assistant head football coach at Wynne, Arkansas Public Schools in Wynne, Arkansas. He also has served as the team’s defensive coordinator and conditioning coach. While at Wynne High School, he helped take them from a previous four-year record of 15 wins and 26 losses to a current four year record of 42 wins and 9 losses, the release states. His former team has been a 5A State Runner Up, 5A East Conference Champion and two-time 5A East Conference Runner-up. Turner also has served as intramural basketball director for Wynne High School as well as assisted with the high school track team. Turner earned his bachelor‘s degree in physical education/health K-12 from Arkansas State University.
