Woman accused of forging $8K check from former Jackson employer

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A woman was in Jackson City Court Friday on accusations of forging an $8,500 check from her former employer. Maia Talley faces one count of forgery after police say she wrote and cashed the check last summer at Bank of Fayette County. The owner of A Plus Care Solutions, a Jackson physical therapy clinic, discovered Feb. 4 that a check for $8,500 had been fraudulently cashed on June 13, 2014, according to an affidavit. The check had been written to Talley, a former employee who had not worked at the business since March 2014. Bank records show the unauthorized check was cashed by Talley, the document states. Talley is free on a $4,000 bond.
