NEWBERN, Tenn. — The City of Newbern in Dyer County is set to receive thousands of dollars in grant money from Canadian National Railway. According to the city recorder, the railroad’s “America in Bloom” program has given Newbern a $25,000 grant. It will help beautify more than 2,000 feet along the tracks. Officials said the city was chosen because of the historic Newbern depot, the Amtrak station and the active efforts of the city’s parks and recreation program.
