EAST JACKSON — The Jackson Community Redevelopment Agency broke ground Thursday on two new development sites in east Jackson. The first ground-breaking ceremony was for a new retail development site and took place at 10 a.m. near the intersection of F.E. Wright Drive and Whitehall Street. A large Bennigan’s, an Irish pub-themed casual dining restaurant, is coming to the retail development area, according to Master Developer David Hunt. He said the restaurant will have patio seating and that they hope for it to be open by fall. They also plan to have a national chain dry cleaners and medical/dental offices. The second groundbreaking took place afterward for a residential development site near the intersection of Taylor and Whitehall streets.
