Madison Co. commissioners approve sale of lots in east Jackson

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — Monday night, the Madison County Commission approved the sale of two lots on Southern Street in east Jackson to Southwest Human Resources Agency, which plans on building two homes for low- to moderate-income families. The sale is contingent on Southwest receiving a grant approving them to sell the new homes instead of renting them. County commissioners told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News this will create property taxes that were not being generated before since these lots were vacant.
