DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A Jackson man is facing a few charges of theft, after appearing Wednesday in city court. Laquan Jones is charged with theft under $500, identity theft and stealing a truck. Officers responding to a hit-and-run call in March found a black Ford Ranger that had reportedly been stolen. Inside, officers found a receipt that apparently traced Jones back to a Shell station on South Highland Avenue where court papers say he used a debit card taken from the truck’s owners. Jones also is charged with stealing the CD player inside. He’s being held in lieu of a $20,000 bond.
