JACKSON, Tenn. – University School of Jackson’s 19th Annual Invitational is place to be on Thursday for competitive track and field. 26 schools and hundreds of local athletes will show off their talents against some of the area’s top competition. “The stands are usually packed. If you didn’t know any better, you would think there is a football game going on,” said USJ track and field coach Edgar Willis. “It’s a great environment for all the kids involved.” Of the participating schools from last year’s event, six teams went on to win state championships. The fielding events begin at three, followed by the running events at five. Admission is $5.
