Results in for Jackson Decides online poll

JACKSON, Tenn. — More than 1,700 WBBJ viewers cast their votes in our online poll between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Thursday to say which candidate they believe won the Jackson Decides mayoral debate. Incumbent Mayor Jerry Gist came out on top with 51 percent of the votes. Lowe Finney came in second place with 44 percent. Rounding out the poll were James Baxter with 3 percent, Tim York with 2 percent and Charlie Motton with 1 percent. A total of 1,732 votes were cast in the poll. Gist received 888 votes, Finney 780, Baxter 44, York 28 and Motton 12.
