EAST JACKSON, Tenn. — Hundreds of children and their families learned about a healthy lifestyle through a day of fun and play Saturday. Thousands of YMCA’s across the country opened their doors for Healthy Kids Day. At the YMCA of Jackson about 250 kids attended enjoying face painting, a magician, exercise and more. “It is designed to help families and kids take a look around their community see what healthy options there are for them and just come out and have a great time,” Jackson YMCA CEO Sheronda Green said. Organizers said the first 50 kids who arrived received healthy goody bags. As the summer approaches Green encourages families to get involved in their local YMCA.
