Annual concert ushers in spring

JACKSON, Tenn. — Local music lovers enjoyed the sounds of local bands Monday evening at Northside United Methodist Church. The spring concert featured Jackson area bands including the Symphonic Winds Concert Band and the Jackson Swing Orchestra, all made up of West Tennessee musicians. “This gives them an opportunity to play, it gives an opportunity for family members to come out and support and just an opportunity for the community to stand behind music,” director Joshua Veltman said. More than 50 musicians participated in the concert.
