MARTIN, Tenn. — Martin Police continue to investigate an early Saturday morning aggravated kidnapping. Chief Don Teal said the suspect is 25-year-old Derrick Nicholson of Meridian, Mississippi. Around 3:30 a.m. officers responded to the area of Lindell St. when notified by dispatch that a Weakley County deputy was in pursuit of an individual who had just assaulted two subjects. The sergeant followed the vehicle to Summer St. where it crashed, hitting a residence on Summer St. When officers arrived Nicholson had fled on foot. A search of the area was unsuccessful and officers continue to search for Nicholson. Charges of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated domestic assault, aggravated burglary, theft of property, and vandalism are pending against Nicholson.
