JACKSON, Tenn. — Letter carriers in Jackson will be participating in the largest single-day food drive this Saturday. The National Association of Letter Carriers has partnered with the Regional Inter-Faith Association, known also as RIFA, for the food drive. Jackson residents are asked on Saturday to leave a bag containing non-perishable foods next to your mailbox for pick-up. “It’s the best feeling in the world when you pull up to a street and all the mailboxes have bags next to them with food,” Annette Johnson said. “You can’t help but smile to know it’s going to the people we see every day in need.” RIFA officials say last year letter carriers collected more than 16,000 pounds of food. The bags of food left next to mailboxes will be picked up at the time your mail is delivered Saturday.
