JACKSON, Tenn. — In observance of the 64th annual National Day of Prayer, the Jackson Area Ministerial Association hosted the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast Thursday morning. Hundreds packed into the Carl Perkins Civic Center for the annual event that began at 7 a.m. People of all faiths were encouraged to attend. “Bring everybody together and stop this violence,” attendee John Dixson said. “It needs to stop right now, because if we don’t, it’s just going to get worse and worse.” City leaders, pastors and others from the community sang songs and prayed together. The mayor said this marks the eighth year for the event in Jackson.
