ADAMSVILLE, Tenn. — Another West Tennessee tradition began Thursday as Adamsville’s Buford Pusser Festival kicked off. The 27th annual celebration runs through Saturday and coincides with National Law Enforcement Awareness Week. Organizers said events will include music, fireworks and a story telling session about the famed lawman. “They’ll be doing stories about my dad, and this is from Buford Pusser historians and one of my dad’s best friends and a couple good friends of my dad’s, and these stories are about, yes, law enforcement things that took place when my dad was sheriff,” said Dwana Pusser, daughter of Buford Pusser. The story telling starts at 3 p.m. Saturday at the community center in Adamsville. All of the festival events are free to the public.
