Lexington falls short in Class AA State Championship

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Lexington’s softball team had a tall order to get to the Class AA State Championship. The Lady Big Red Tigers had to win three games on Friday to capture the crown. Lexington advanced to the big stage, but fell 7-4 to Greeneville in Game 2. Lexington defeated Chattanooga Central 3-2 in Class AA state semifinal earlier in the morning. Sophomore Samanta McDaniel drove in two runs in the final inning to put the Lady Big Red Tigers in the state championship.
