JACKSON, Tenn. — An employee of the city’s engineering department was among several suspects in court this week on patronizing prostitution charges. City officials say Jayson Edwards, who appeared Monday in city court, will be suspended without pay until either he is found guilty or the charges are dismissed. Edwards’ arrest was part of an undercover operation focused on the use of the website www.backpage.com to promote prostitution. He is accused of arranging to meet an undercover officer May 13 at a Jackson hotel and then providing money for sex, according to court papers.
