MEDINA, Tenn. — Interim Jackson Police Chief Julian Wiser has stepped down from his position on the Board of Aldermen in Medina, according to Mayor Vance Coleman. Wiser was elected as alderman in 2010 and 2014, so his four-year term does not expire until December 2018. The mayor will appoint a successor to fill the vacant seat until the next regular city election in November 2016. The successful candidate will serve the remainder of the term. Wiser was appointed interim Jackson police chief in October by Mayor Jerry Gist.
