HENDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. — Firefighters will be on the move Saturday as they install free smoke alarms in hundreds of homes across the county. The Henderson County Fire Department is teaming up with the Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Office for the latest “Get Alarmed Tennessee” smoke alarm canvass, according to a release from the state. From when the program began in 2012 through July 2015, 98 lives have been saved and more than 81,000 smoke alarms have been installed with the help of 420 participating organizations, according to the release.
