HENRY COUNTY, Tenn. — U.S. Marshals arrested a man Wednesday in Memphis in connection with a July 4 stabbing in Paris. Mario Threatt, 34, of Paris was taken into custody Wednesday on a charge of criminal attempt to commit second-degree murder in the stabbing of Marcus Long. Police say Long was stabbed approximately eight times in the back, chest and ear and was transported to Nashville for treatment. Also charged in the stabbing is Israel Patton, 50, of Paris, who was arrested July 9 and charged with criminal attempt to commit second-degree murder. A woman also has been charged in connection with the stabbing. Gloria Patton, 59, also of Paris, was arrested July 9 and charged with filing a false report after police said she knowingly made false statements to officers with the intent of hindering the apprehension of another suspect in the stabbing.
