Humboldt police seek masked gunmen in midnight shooting

HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — Police are searching for suspects after two gunmen allegedly opened fire in a midnight shooting, sending one man to the hospital. Officers responded just after 12 a.m. Thursday to the Vance Street area for reported gunshots, according to a release from the Humboldt Police Department. Two men told police they had been sitting in a car when two masked gunmen wearing black clothing approached them brandishing handguns and began shooting at them. The victims fled on foot, and one of them suffered a gunshot wound that was not life-threatening, according to the release. The man was transported to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital and was treated and released.
