JACKSON, Tenn. — A fight between a man and woman that allegedly ended with the woman hitting the man with her car lands her in court Friday on an aggravated assault charge. Police say Latonya Lewis tried to hit a man with her car during an altercation around 10 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 1500 block of North Royal Street. When she missed, she backed up and drove toward him again, hitting him as he tried to jump out of the way and causing him to fall off the hood and onto the pavement, according to an affidavit. Officers say Lewis tried to leave the scene but was stopped by police. The man was treated at a local hospital and released. Court papers say the incident was captured on the city’s security cameras. Lewis’ bond is set at $10,000.
