Man charged with strangling woman during confrontation

JACKSON, Tenn. — A man was in city court Friday after allegedly strangling a woman during a confrontation. Clyde Honer Jr. is accused of assaulting a woman Wednesday by strangling her when she confronted him about sexual advancements he had made toward her, according to an affidavit. The woman told police she was able to break free from Honer and flee. She later was transported to a local hospital where she was treated and release for non-life threatening injuries, the document states. Honer is charged with aggravated assault by strangulation.
