MEDINA, Tenn. — A memorial honoring three students who died over the last few years is now on display in Medina. The memorial near Medina Middle School honors twins who drowned in a pond and a young girl who committed suicide. School leaders told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News the memorial is a great way to honor the lives of these kids taken too soon. “We think about them and their names come up a lot, and this is just something we feel like it was just very important for all of us,” Medina Middle School Principal Steve Maloan said. “Because of Sheriff [Paul] Thomas and his group, we now have something that we can walk by every day and remember them by.” All materials were donated by local businesses. Trustees from the county jail performed the labor and finished the project in just one day.
