Nonprofit flies local cancer patient to Texas for treatment

DYER COUNTY, Tenn. — A nonprofit organization helped a cancer patient take to the skies Wednesday. The Pilots for Patients organization flew a Dyer County cancer patient to the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, for treatment. Pilots for Patients is a Louisiana-based nonprofit that provides free flights for qualified patients and requesting agencies. The volunteer pilots donate their time and aircraft.
