Milan man faces evading charge after foot chase

MILAN, Tenn. — Police apprehended a man with a Taser after they say he ran from a home when they went to arrest him for a sex offender registry violation. Officers went to arrest James Clifford Williams Thursday on a sex offender registry violation charge, according to Milan police. Police say they knocked on the front door of a Culpepper Street home and saw a man run out of the back door. Officers caught up with Williams on Stewart Street where he was apprehended with a Taser and arrested, according to police. Williams is charged with violation of the sex offender registry and evading arrest. He is being held in the Gibson County Jail in lieu of a $45,000 bond.
