JACKSON, Tenn. — The music of Rock-A-Billy flooded the streets of downtown Jackson Saturday. In its 15th year, the Rock-A-Billy stage, located right beside the Hall of Fame and Museum, featured back-to-back performances of the classic genre. For some volunteers at the festival, they say there’s a certain sound fans are looking for. “They’re listening to everybody, but what they’re listening for is that old-time Rock-A-Billy, what started right here in downtown Jackson, Tennessee — Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and the like,” said Lee Gaugh, a volunteer with the festival. The event goes on until 10 p.m. Saturday and will continue on Sunday at First United Methodist Church in Jackson.
