Police say man threatened to burn house down

JACKSON, Tenn. — A man is facing an aggravated assault charge after allegedly threatening to burn down his and his girlfriend’s house. Tony Rutherford is accused of pouring gasoline on the front of the Raymond Glade Cove home Sunday and threatening to burn it down, according to court documents. Police say there was a strong smell of gasoline when they arrived on scene. Rutherford is charged with aggravated domestic assault, and his bond is set at $30,000.
