Police ask for help to ID woman in phone theft

JACKSON, Tenn. — Police are asking the public to help identify a woman they say stole a cell phone at a north Jackson restaurant. On July 9, a customer accidentally left their cell phone on the counter at Zaxby’s on Oil Well Road, according to a release from the Jackson Police Department. Police say a black woman wearing a brown tank top and having a ponytail is then seen on surveillance video putting the phone in her purse and leaving. Anyone who can identify the woman or has other information is asked to call Jackson police at 731-425-8400 or Crime Stoppers at 731-424-TIPS (8477).
