Police investigate theft of gun cabinet from Union City home

UNION CITY, Tenn. — Police are investigating a break-in that reportedly happened early Thursday and resulted in a gun cabinet being stolen. After returning to his Ury Street home after work around 1 a.m. Thursday, the victim said he found his front door kicked open, his closet ransacked and a black metal gun cabinet stolen. That cabinet is said to have contained three shotguns, an automatic rifle, ammunition and some old coins. Police are still trying to identify the suspects. Responding officers dusted for fingerprints, but none were found.
