MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport says it’s received a federal grant to build a new hangar. Airport officials say they’ve received an $850,00 grant to build the hangar and already have a business willing to sign a 20-year contract to fill it. The airport’s executive director says it could mean big things for the airport. “Down the road, what it could mean for us is that we are beginning to have larger aircraft use the airport,” Steve Smith Jr. said. Airport officials say McKellar-Sipes will only have to provide five percent of the funds to build the hangar.
