Police: Former teacher charged with sexual assaults on child

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Authorities say a former Clarksville-Montgomery County teacher has been charged with sexual assaults on a child.

The Leaf-Chronicle reports (http://leafne.ws/1Ph97nH ) 27-year-old Brandon Kyle Hester was arrested Friday. Hester faces multiple charges, including two counts of rape of a child and two counts of aggravated sexual battery.

A news release from the Clarksville Police Department says the alleged incidents took place while Hester was teaching in the county school system, where he worked from 2010 to 2012.

Police say during that time, Hester started an after-school club to help boys who didn’t have a father figure. Authorities say the victim was part of that club.

Jail records show Hester, who was booked into the Montgomery County Jail, now lives in Nashville.

It wasn’t immediately clear if he has an attorney.
