JACKSON, Tenn. — A woman accused of stealing $12,000 worth of jewelry from a home she was hired to clean appeared Tuesday in city court. Angel Yvonta Owens is charged with theft of property over $10,000 after pawn shop records linked her to the stolen items, according to an affidavit. A woman reported the theft from her Timberlake Cove home Aug. 11, telling police she suspected Owens, whom she had hired to help with cleaning. The woman later was informed the jewelry had been pawned at Cash Today Pawn and Krasner Pawn & Jewelry, both in Jackson, according to the affidavit. Store records indicated Owens had pawned the stolen items, the document states. The judge set Owens’ bond at $20,000.
