HENDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. — More and more West Tennessee sheriff’s departments are branding their cruisers with the words “In God We Trust.” Henderson County Sheriff Bryan Duke says he began adding the phrase to his patrol cars Tuesday. Duke says he’s glad to have it displayed although he realizes not everyone will agree. “If in your heart and your mind you don’t believe God exists, then the name on that bumper sticker should not offend you at all because he doesn’t exist to you,” Duke said. “For those of us that believe, it makes me feel good knowing it’s there.” The sheriff says a local businessman made the decals for free and the sheriff himself will place them on each of the 20 marked patrol vehicles.
