TBI investigates complaint of missing money at police agency
MILLINGTON, Tenn. (AP) – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is looking into a complaint of missing money from the evidence room at the Millington Police Department.
The Commercial Appeal (http://bit.ly/1PPNADr ) reports the TBI was asked by the Shelby County District Attorney General to investigate the complaint.
TBI spokesman Susan Niland says the investigation is in a preliminary stage.
Millington Police Chief Frank Tennant said he asked for TBI to investigate the matter. He said it’s obvious something is going on, so he called the agency to assist. Tennant was hired as the city’s new police chief in July 2014.
