EAST JACKSON, Tenn. — Former Vanderbilt football player and accused rapist Brandon Banks wore full pads and participated in team drills for the first time at Lane College on Thursday. Banks is expected to play defensive back for the Dragons. “Unfortunately, we’re hobbled at the defensive back position. He’s probably gotta learn by fire right now,” head coach Derrick Burroughs said during Wednesday’s practice. Lane College’s season opener is on September 5 against Conordia College. Lane doesn’t play at home until September 26. Banks is still awaiting trial for his case.
