TDOT to halt construction lane closures for Labor Day weekend

NASHVILLE — Your drive will be a little easier during the Labor Day holiday weekend. The Tennessee Department of Transportation says all lane closures on highway construction projects across the state will be halted from noon Friday until 6 a.m. Tuesday. Construction workers still will be on site, so safety officials remind motorists to obey all posted speed limits. AAA Auto Club South projects that more than 604,000 Tennesseans will travel by car this Labor Day holiday.
