Body cams for JPD officers could come soon

JACKSON, Tenn.-The Jackson Police Department said it is closer than ever to officers with body cameras. Chief Julian Wiser said the department is currently testing three different models of body cameras and will make a decision of which one they prefer, sometime next week. In February, department leaders told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News they would need around 70 cameras and estimated the cost at nearly $70,000.
