KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Tennessee defensive tackle Danny O’Brien has been suspended for a violation of team rules.

Volunteers coach Butch Jones said Wednesday that O’Brien would miss Saturday’s game with No. 19 Oklahoma and no timetable had been set for the junior’s return. O’Brien had two tackles and a sack last week against Bowling Green in his 12th career start.

No. 23 Tennessee also will be missing reserve safety Max Arnold and reserve running back Ralph David Abernathy IV this week. Jones said Arnold has a sprained medial collateral ligament and Abernathy has a sprained ankle.

Jones also said he expects safety LaDarrell McNeil to play Sept. 19 against Western Carolina. Jones had said last week there was only a slight chance McNeil would play this season due to “neck instability.”
